Let the renovations continue....

Here is what our kitchen looked like when we moved in.......

And this is the current state of our kitchen....total choas and mess. We are trying to renovate as inexpensively as possible, which means that we must do all the work ourselves. It may take several months, but I believe the effort will really worth it!!! I'll say it again...I can't believe that I am surviving this....and I'll be glad when it's done!!!

The pedicure that wasn't meant to be...

Today the kids were off from school and I started thinking to myself..."self, those poor girls of yours don't get enough Mommy/Daughter fun time, it's time to do something about that!!" Michael was home scrapping the last of the wallpaper remnants, the boys were busy playing with their cousin, and the babies were happy and content. I asked Michael if he thought it would be alright if I take Sunshine, Little T and Greta to the Model college for their very first pedicure. He was game, and I was sooooo excited!! I had promised Sunshine a pedicure long ago and had never been able to do it. Today was the day! We all got dressed and headed out, but on the way Sunshine started saying that she was very tired. I was slightly concerned, but passed it off as she was simply that...tired. Well, we get to the salon and they seat us all in a nice little row, ready for our beautification to begin. We had been sitting for maybe 5 minutes when Sunshine started looking....well, green to be exact. She continued to reassure me that she was just tired, and all was well. Yeah right....those words barely left her lips before she threw up all over herself, the chair, and a lovely black waste basket that the poor technician grabbed a few minutes too late. Needless to say, the two of us DID NOT get pampered and spoiled today. Instead, we spent plenty of time in the bathroom, cleaning her up. We came back out and watched as Little T and Greta were massaged, rubbed, polished and blown dry. Those two girls loved it, and I'm glad we made the trip if only for that. However, my poor Little Miss Sunshine was so very sad and disappointed about her pedicure, it really did break this mama's heart just a little bit! I promised her that I will take her back, just the two of us, and maybe...just maybe we can get a special treat afterwards. I think she deserves that...don't you!?

Every Girl Needs Her Space!

Every girl needs her space right?? Or, in our homes case...every PERSON needs their space. We have a great walk in closet off of the den, it even has an outlet in there. At first I used it to store sleeping bags and suitcases. But, one day I had a revelation....why not clear it out and give the kids their very own little corner of the house that is just for them...no adults allowed (or fit) in there:) There is a pile of blankets to sit and read on, books, toys, and Little T's favorite new addition....her very own desk for her little laptop. I think its great and its amazing what a little space can do!
