The past Saturday was the perfect day to pull out some stored up craft projects. Mommy received this family mosaic cross a few Christmas's ago and just never found the right time to work on it. It's not a big secret that Mommy isn't much for crafting. First, there needs to be time to sit with a project for hours, and then there's the issue of
THE MESS!!! I do set aside my neat freak issues on occasion and pull out the fun stuff...today was the day! This was great project. It started with Mommy reading some Bible verses for the kids talking about how God created all of us unique and special. Then we all went around the table and listed each others special abilities. This was really fun for me to listen to, because as any Mom knows...kind words aren't always spoken between siblings. Elijah is a great worker and helper....Ava is funny and is great at loving....Jack is a super cuddler and a great big brother...Tessa is super cute and fun to be around....Daddy is great at building things....and Mommy is good at cleaning and loving us!!! Whew...there were more, but I just wanted to share a few.
We all took turns placing our tiles on the cross to make it our own unique family cross. The end result was beautiful and the kids are super proud of it. We have been trying to decide where to hang it, and finally picked a nice spot in the dining room!
Looking at this hanging on our wall will be a great reminder that, yes, God did make us all SPECIAL and UNIQUE!!!
