So, this past weekend our dear children got to have their "camping trip" in the backyard after all. I'm sure most everyone remembers that their dear Mommy is expecting another little baby soon. Well, she had a doctor's appointment last Friday and found out that she has the makings of preterm labor. What does this mean? Well....to our children, it means their lives are over. No, not seriously, but it does mean that we probably won't be taking camping trip anytime soon. We were all supposed to go to Higher Ground Music festival with some friends from church in a couple of weeks. Needless to say, that trip was canceled. Mommy was feeling pretty bad about the kids being cooped up in our little part of the world. So...we decided to set the tent up in the woods behind our house and make a day of it. The kids spent most of their Saturday playing games,hunting for insects and eating snacks out in their new little house. We even grilled for supper and ate outside. After dinner, daddy got a fire going and we all had some 'smores. I have to admit, it was close to the real thing. Although they all wanted desperately to sleep in the tent overnight, Daddy had way to much homework to sacrifice his entire evening. And, well, I think it's safe to say that there was no way Mommy was going to sleep on the ground in a sleeping bag. Sleep comes hard enough right now in a soft bed:)Well...the tent is still up and they are still enjoying it. Maybe we can salvage the rest of this summer after all!!!
