This past Saturday, our family once again participated in the Sartell 5K My Way. Last year the race was on a hot, steamy summer morning and Mommy had placed 1st in her age category (much to her surprise!). This year was a much different story. We woke to 30 mph winds and very cold temperatures for mid-May...even for Minnesotan's standards. Even though Mommy is 5 months pregnant and auntie (her running buddy) was battling a nasty chest cold, we all decided to forge ahead and run the race. Mommy and auntie finished with a respectable time of 28:37, which they were quite proud of considering they didn't even know if they would be able to run the whole way (which they did!) After the 5K Ava, Elijah and Jack once again ran a 1K. They all did so awesome, and we were incredibly proud of them. They all gave it everything they had and finished in the front of the pack. Well, Ava didn't quite finish in the front...but at least she finished with a smile on her face (check out her picture.) They love receiving their medals after the race and were even more excited to win some great door prizes. Elijah won a $15 gift certificate to G-Allens and Jack won a 3 month membership to Gold's Gym....which Daddy is pretty excited about:)
