Saturday was just so beautiful outside...I'm sure all of you in Central Minnesota can agree with me! Well, Mommy had been looking at our ice filled driveway for far too long now. She decided Saturday would be a great day to get uncle Brett's ice chipper and spend THE ENTIRE day outside patiently chipping away all the ice that had accumulated after so many snowfalls. You see, our snowblower broke very early in the season, so it was very difficult to get the snow shoveled off before daycare drove over it in the mornings! Elijah helped a great deal and we got all but the very end of the driveway completed...what a relief. Since it was so nice, the three older ones spent the afternoon outside as well. At one point the boys even had their coats off, they were just so hot they said! The snow was perfect for making snowmen, so Elijah was determined to build a grand one for the whole neighborhood to see. It took a couple of tries, but he finally completed it (with just a little help from Mommy!) He was very proud of his accomplishment. He then went to join Jack and Ava in the cave that Daddy had built near the end of our driveway.
Michael's friend Dustin was in town from Iowa, so we all went in the house to enjoy some pizza and time with him. The kids thought he was just a riot, doing magic tricks and telling silly jokes. Well, by the time they got back outside, poor old snowman had already completely fallen apart. All that was left was the bottom snowball, the scarf in the snow, and the shovel. Poor Elijah, he was very sad. But when I reminded him that snow melting is a sign of spring coming, he quickly perked up. They are all ready for summer to come. Seriously, as soon as the driveway was clear, they both had their skateboards out and were wheeling around! Those boys!!
